Dean Holds Miami (R) Scoreless Saturday, July 2nd , 2011 A.J. Dean of the New York City (R) Blues was on top of his game. The 19-year-old tantalized the Miami (R) Sun Sox with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 5-0. "He had the changeup working," Miami (R) manager Khalil Miller said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower." The New York City (R) hurler had 8 strikeouts, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 2 hits in his complete-game effort. Dean told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league." "If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.
