Paparone Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Wednesday, September 19th , 2012 Win or lose, Robby Paparone just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Long Beach Titans center fielder went 1-for-5, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 2-1, by the Arlington Stars at Stars Park. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Robby Paparone walked in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 10th and struck out in the 12th. This season, Paparone has hit at a .300 clip and produced 48 runs batted in, 10 home runs and 43 runs. |
