Season-Ending Injury for Quintiliano Abecassis Tuesday, September 18th , 2012 Quintiliano Abecassis of the Apollos just might have to call it quits for the season. The 27-year-old Houston starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Albuquerque Coyotes recently at Coyote Park. Abecassis suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. The Apollos medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 14 months. Abecassis has made 1 starts this season, posting 1 win and 1 loss. Opposing clubs are batting .197 against him and he has 25 strikeouts in 21 innings with a 1.71 ERA. |
