Apollos Halt Kershner Hit Streak Monday, September 17th , 2012 The streak has been snapped. Dave Kershner failed to get a hit in today's game against the Houston Apollos, bringing his 23-game hitting spree to an end. The 37-year-old Albuquerque first baseman was 0-for-2, but the Coyotes got the win and defeated the Apollos, 7-1. "I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Kershner said. "I got to 23 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?" This year, Kershner is hitting .354 with 9 home runs. |
