Hack Electric in 2-0 Win
Monday, August 13th , 2012
Brian Hack of the Tulsa Twisters was on top of his game.
The 40-year-old tantalized the Boston Battalion with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 2-0.
"He had the changeup working," Boston manager Bob Barnett said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."
The Tulsa hurler had 11 strikeouts, gave up 2 walks and surrendered 2 hits in his complete-game effort.
Hack told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."
"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.
This season, Hack has compiled a 2-1 record with a 2.64 ERA.
