Big Day with Bat: Xú 5-for-5 Tuesday, October 9th , 2012 It was a sensational day at the plate for Jhong-shun Xú as he led the charge to a nifty 6-1 win over the Steelheads. The Mexico City first baseman was pure misery for the Vacaville pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Xú put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said John Ennis, manager for the Steelheads, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Jhong-shun Xú singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. This season, Xú is hitting .299 with 8 home runs.
