Four-bagger Feast: Lunsford Slugs 3 for Edmonton Tuesday, September 18th , 2012 Sometimes it just isn't enough. Ryan Lunsford had an outstanding day at Drillers Field for the Edmonton Drillers, ripping three home runs. Nonetheless, the Drillers fell to the Hamilton Tigers, 8-6. Lunsford had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 34-year-old second baseman banged out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 times and batted in 4 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Drillers were not able to hold off the Tigers. "Baseball is a funny game," Lunsford said in the post-game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out." Ryan Lunsford hit a solo-shot off Joe Bell in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Joe Bell in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Joe Bell in the 6th and grounded out in the 9th. Batting .217 to date, Lunsford has 14 home runs and 33 RBIs. |
