Lasso Gets August's Rookie Trophy Saturday, September 1st , 2012 With a flourish, Albany's Marco Lasso hoisted up August's Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Rookie of the Month Award. Even though it's his first year in the league, he definitely has reason to be proud. Last month in 0 starts he posted 1 win and no losses and collected a 0.96 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 18.2 innings of work. He issued 8 walks and held the opposition to a .148 average. Even a vet would be proud of those stats. Lasso has 14 saves this year. In 29 relief appearances he has tossed 43.2 innings, fanned 70, and given up 26 walks with a 1-4 record. The Albany reliever has recorded a 2.89 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .204 when he is on the mound. |
