June's Best Rookie in a Class by Himself Sunday, July 1st , 2012 Ryan Dowden might not have fully digested the impact of winning June's Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Rookie of the Month award when he got the news earlier today, but the 25-year-old quickly learned that he was no longer your typical rookie. Posting a mark of 3-1 won-lost record will do that. In 4 starts he tossed 27 innings with 21 strikeouts and a 2.67 ERA. Opposing teams hit .274 against him during the month. Not bad for a first-year man. |
