Miami Helpless Against Brown, Lose 3-0
Sunday, September 23rd , 2012
The Miami Sun Sox manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Washington Warriors. The Sun Sox were overpowered by Washington starter Mark Brown, who hurled his club to victory, 3-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Barry Lolicht said.
Over 9 innings, Brown blanked Miami on 4 hits with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Brown said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
For this year, Brown has chalked up 15 wins and 2 losses in 21 starts with 175 strikeouts in 164.1 innings and a 2.41 ERA.
