Shackelford Hit String Snapped at 27 Tuesday, September 18th , 2012 The 27-game hitting streak is over. New York City Blues shortstop Jeremy Shackelford failed to get a hit against the Washington Warriors and had his consecutive-game hitting streak broken. The 28-year-old went 0-for-3 in his club's 5-1 victory over the Warriors at Blues Field. "I think I only made it to 27 games because I got lucky once or twice," he said. "So I guess I can't complain too much that I got unlucky and broke the streak." Thus far this year, Shackelford has hit .318 with 10 home runs and 47 RBIs. |
