Shackelford Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Saturday, September 8th , 2012 Jeremy Shackelford collected 3 hits in today's game and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. His club, the New York City Blues, beat the Toronto Titans, 7-5. "Right now, when they throw me the ball, it looks the size of a softball," Shackelford quipped to a BNN reporter after the game. "I'm excited about how things are clicking." Jeremy Shackelford singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Josh O'Neill in the 9th. For the season, Shackelford has produced 91 hits in 293 at-bats for a .311 average with 10 home runs and gotten on base at a .352 clip. |
