Jonathan Thornton Gets Hit Number 1000 Tuesday, August 21st , 2012 It was a day of mixed emotions for Houston left fielder Jonathan Thornton, who collected his 1000th hit in the club's 2-1 loss to El Paso. Mavericks and Diablos fans alike cheered Thornton as he reached base after his milestone hit. "I wish the score had been different," Thornton said after the game, "but it was a great moment. The standing ovation was really special... even the fans wearing Diablos caps were cheering me." Thornton was 1-for-4 on the day.
