Detroit Shut Out by Phillips Monday, August 6th , 2012 Boston hurler Chris Phillips put on quite a show, as he blitzed the Detroit Motors with a 2-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 4 hits with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk to pick up the win. "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball," Detroit manager Sean Morgan told reporters after the game. To date, Phillips has a 4-6 mark in 12 starts with a 2.60 ERA. He has given up 58 hits in 90 innings, struck out 82 and issued 40 walks.
