PBC Player of the Week, Thornton of Houston Monday, August 6th , 2012 A battle-tested Jonathan Thornton declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 34-year-old Houston left fielder collected the Professional Baseball Circuit Player of the Week Award. He wrapped up the week with a .474 average, 9 hits in 19 at-bats, 5 home runs, 5 RBIs and 8 runs scored. Thornton is hitting at a .292 mark this season.
