Hernandez goes 4-for-4 as Shamrocks Squeeze Past Detroit

Behind a fine performance from Andres Hernandez, the Boston Shamrocks knocked off the Detroit Motors, 6-5. Hernandez was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Shamrocks. Reliever Cory Person picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Erik Ringer took the loss. Bob Kiesow recorded the save for Boston, his 1st of the season.
Had Hernandez not come through in the top of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Hernandez hit a 2-run single. The Shamrocks took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.
"It was a pretty good night," said Hernandez.
The win brings the Shamrocks to 2-8, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
