McCune Blasts Bruins, Eagles Take Game 5, 6-3
The Newark Eagles have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Vancouver Bruins, winning, 6-3, at Eagles Park. Eagles catcher Dave McCune was 2-3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. The win cuts the deficit facing the Eagles to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Division Championship Series.

Delivering for the home team was 35-year old first baseman Jonathan Lieberman. In the bottom of the first, the veteran designated hitter had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 1-0, Eagles.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said McCune.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 9th , 2012 at Bruins Stadium in Vancouver.
