Almost There: Vancouver On Cusp of DCS Triumph After 2-1 Win
The Vancouver Bruins went into extra innings against the Newark Eagles but ultimately moved to within one game of the SPBC Classic Series. The Bruins downed the Eagles at Eagles Park by a score of 2-1. Vancouver left-hander Gouki Miyagi had a solid outing. He threw 10.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Bruins a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Division Championship Series.

Miyagi was in the zone all game. He frustrated Newark hitters while giving the Bruins 10.1 innings of quality work. Miyagi threw 132 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 13 punchouts.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Bruins manager Philip Schreiber.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Eagles Park in Newark.
