Lovely Ks 11, Steelheads Top Aztecas on Walk-off to Cut Deficit to 3-2
The Vacaville Steelheads got a strong game from starter Scott Lovely, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Steelheads took the 5-3 win over the Mexico City Aztecas in Game 5 of the Division Championship Series in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Lovely. Lovely threw 8.0 innings allowing 3 runs in the win, which allowed the Steelheads to narrow their deficit to 2-3 in the best-of-7 series.

Vacaville got a knockout punch from Matt Lopresti. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Lovely said after the game.

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
