Cup Qualifier Game 1 Victory for Clous and Washington
The Cup Qualifier got off to a quiet start, with the host Washington Warriors taking a low-scoring, 2-1 win over the El Paso Diablos. Washington right-hander Ron Clous was marvelous at Warriors Park. The Warriors now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Clous threw well for Washington, thwarting the El Paso offense. The right-hander tossed 113 pitches over 8 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 3 hits.

"Ron did a good job keeping the game under control," said Washington manager Angel Sanchez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Warriors Park in Washington.
