Conditions were not ideal but Chicago and New York City were able to put their game in the books.
Justin Thill pitched a gem to lead Chicago to victory over the New York City Blues, 7-1. The Blackhawks now have a mark of 38-50.
Aaron Thomas had a big 3-run home run for the Blackhawks in the bottom of the first inning. With Chicago leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a sinker from Jim Johnson, who finished 5th in the PBC in wins with 10 in 2007, and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Blackhawks on top, 5-0.
"Justin mixed and matched," said Chicago manager Seth Butynski.
