The rain came, as predicted, but the Boston Shamrocks and New York City Blues were able to complete their ballgame.

New York City third baseman Josiah Hampton was sensational. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Boston beat the Blues, 7-4. The first-place Shamrocks now have a win-loss record of 47-37.

Boston used a well-timed hit by Kyle Skiver to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Shamrocks ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Skiver said.
