The Mexico City Aztecas topped the Detroit Chargers, 5-3, in Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit action at Estadio Azteca. The game was highlighted by the performance of Mexico City shortstop Bryan Mickelson. Edgar Ozuna earned the save for Mexico City, his 13th of the year. Mexico City leads the Central Division by 5 games.

The Aztecas got a big hit from right fielder Daniel Gilmore. Facing Detroit pitcher Omar Smart in the bottom of the fifth, Gilmore pounded a run-scoring double to left-center. His 10th double of the season put the Aztecas ahead, 3-1.

"We were the better team," crowed Mickelson.
