Empires Earn Win with Late Rally
Due in large part to pinch hitter Jerry Harris, the Southern California Empires sunk the Vacaville Steelheads, 7-6. Harris went 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win went to Joey McDonald in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Keith Shull took the loss. The Empires improved their record to 46-41 with the win over Vacaville.

Harris had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Keith Shull, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Empires a 7-6 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Harris.

In postgame comments to the Southern California Bulletin, Harris said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
