The home crowd had a good time watching the Albany Senators and Allentown Fleetwings get after it.
Starting pitcher Jorge Araujo pitched well enough to help the Allentown Fleetwings beat the Albany Senators, 6-3. Araujo picked up the win for Allentown, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 8-8. Ken Zimmermann earned save number 13 this season.
The Senators had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Fleetwings going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 32-year old shortstop Tom Himes came to the plate. Himes hit a 3-run home run on a 2-1 fastball from Albany hurler Tim Burger. It was Himes's 2nd home run of the year.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Araujo.
With the win, Allentown raised its record to 46-41.
