Keenan Stars in 9-2 Eagles Win
The Newark Eagles beat the Sherbrooke Canadians, 9-2, at Eagles Park. The win was due in part to left fielder Joe Keenan, who went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 4 and driving in 2. Francisco Hernandez got the win, improving to 11-6. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 9 and walking 5. The East Division-leading Eagles have a record of 50-37.

The Eagles got a big boost from designated hitter Jonathan Lieberman who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Canadians hurler Kelly Noordanus. It was his 62nd walk of the season and put Newark on top, 1-0.

"We were firing on all cylinders," said Eagles manager Hector Pina.
