Saskatoon Gets 2-1 Win
|
Chris Harpel pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Hamilton Tigers, despite Harpel's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Saskatoon Moose at Hamilton Park. The winning pitcher was Chris Alcaro. His record now stands at 7-4. The left-hander went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits for the Moose. The Moose now have a mark of 37-44.
Saskatoon used a clutch at-bat from Mario Dimas to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Moose ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Dimas.
