Admirals Take Tight Tangle
|
The Quebec City Admirals withstood a fine game by Allentown catcher Wayne Stringfellow at Fleetwings Ballpark, to upend the Fleetwings, 6-5. Stringfellow went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Adam Ockenfels earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Cody Reilly earned his 15th save in 19 chances.
Kenny Sullivan drew 3 walks for Quebec City. The 28-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Aaron Burkholder. It was his 39th walk of the season.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Admirals manager Brian Wolf.
The Admirals sport a record of 32-49.
