Andy Lynch imposed his will on the Canadians from the get-go. Relying mainly on his slider, the right-hander spearheaded the 4-1 Ottawa triumph. Lynch, now 6-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. With the victory, the Capitals record stands at 39-45.

The Capitals got a big at-bat from first baseman Rafael Tobar. For the game, Tobar went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Ottawa a 2-0 lead.
