Capitals Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
|
The Ottawa Capitals topped the Southern California Empires, 3-2, in 13 innings at Empires Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ottawa pitcher Matt Reed. The Capitals improved their record to 36-44 by beating Southern California.
Andy Warring delivered a big hit for Ottawa. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Capitals ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"Sometimes a win comes easy," Reed told the Ottawa Times. "And sometimes you have to scratch and claw."
