Shamrocks Reel-In 7-6 Win Over Warriors
|
The Boston Shamrocks besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Washington third baseman Pat Daniel by beating the Warriors, 7-6, at Warriors Park. Daniel went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Isiah McNeal went 8.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. The right-hander, who is tied for 6th in the PBC in innings pitched with 96.1, struck out 9 and walked 5. With the win, he's now 8-3 this season. The win for the Shamrocks raised their record to 27-24.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Mike Woolridge, the 29-year old center fielder . Woolridge contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Boston up, 7-3.
"We want to make a habit of winning," Woolridge said after the game.
