Cutthroats Deal Motors 4-3 Defeat
|
The Denver Cutthroats faced a tough opponent in Detroit pitcher Brian Teneyck, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Motor Yard by a final score of 4-3. Teneyck went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Mike Green recorded the save, making him 6 for 7. The Cutthroats, at 35-41, sit in last place in the West Division.
It could have been a different outcome for Denver, had it not been for Jim Boutin, the 28-year old right fielder . Boutin contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Denver up, 4-3.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Denver manager Seth Moland-Kovash. "It's usually not just one thing."
