Both teams had their chances, but the New York City Blues eventually prevailed.
The Houston Mavericks could not turn a fine performance from first baseman Ben Mullaly into a win. Instead, the New York City Blues prevailed, 4-3. Mullaly went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The losing streak for Houston has now reached 4 games.
James Queen delivered a big hit for New York City. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blues ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
Queen said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."
