The Tampa Bay Thunder nipped the Boston Shamrocks, 4-3, at The Thunder Bowl. Tampa Bay pitcher John Hunter, in particular, starred. The win lifted the Tampa Bay record to 40-26.
Michael Brown was the walk-off hero for Tampa Bay. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Thunder designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"John -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Thunder manager Kevin Norris. "He was the key to us winning."
