Capitals Rally to Nose Past Newark
|
Ottawa Capitals starter Ron Cahill turned in a sparkling performance against the Newark Eagles, leading his team to a 2-1 win. Matt Reed closed it out for his 1st save. At 31-40, the Capitals find themselves in 4th place in the East Division.
Ottawa took a 2-1 lead on Danny Allred's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Allred hit in the top of the eighth, left Newark pitcher John Roe visibly frustrated.
"Ron made some big pitches when he needed to," said Capitals manager Ricky Wilson.
