Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at Estadio Azteca.

Mexico City starter Alan Staubitz pitched well against the Hamilton Tigers at Estadio Azteca. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Staubitz, who finished 3rd in the SPBC in strikeouts with 171 in 2009, went the distance for Mexico City. He gave up 3 runs on 11 hits.

Mexico City catcher Nick Nimmo contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the Aztecas ahead, 5-2.

"I thought we played some darn good baseball," said Aztecas manager Kyle Boss.

At 42-28, the Aztecas have a slim two-game lead in the Central Division.
