The Capitals earned a hard-fought, 6-5 win in 10 innings at Vegas Stadium. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Las Vegas pitcher Sean Dunsmore. Dunsmore went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Ottawa is now 28-34.

Malik Smith delivered a big hit for Ottawa. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Capitals ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Smith told the Ottawa Times.
