Saskatoon pitcher Chris Alcaro did his part in helping his team beat the Calgary Caracals, 5-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Nicolo Benedettini got the save, the 1st for him this season. The last-place Caracals have lost 4 consecutive games.

It could have been a different outcome for Saskatoon, had it not been for Cory Lincke, the 31-year old right fielder . Lincke contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put Saskatoon up, 1-0.

"Chris was throwing with conviction," said Saskatoon manager Justin Fisher.
