Loss to Diablos Extends Denver Losing Streak
|
In a close game at Inferno Field, the El Paso Diablos edged the Denver Cutthroats, 5-4. El Paso designated hitter Zack Taylor stood apart with his performance. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Won-keun Baek came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-2. Eric Streeper sewed up the save, his 1st.
Had Jeremy Coralic not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Coralic hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Diablos.
"We're not winning games right now," said Denver manager Seth Moland-Kovash. "But I'm not going to denigrate the effort by the guys."
The losses continue to add up for Denver, having now dropped 8 straight.
