Admirals Take Down Braves, 3-2
|
The Quebec City Admirals and Green Bay Braves played an entertaining game for Braves Ballpark patrons.
The Quebec City Admirals faced a tough opponent in Green Bay pitcher Pedro Hernandez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Braves Ballpark by a final score of 3-2. Hernandez went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Cody Reilly, now 2-4, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0.
Quebec City needed the clutch hitting of Nick Gardner to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Admirals on top, 3-2. For the game, Gardner had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Gardner called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
Quebec City is 4th in the East Division with a record of 23-29.
