Chargers Prevail, 4-2, Over Allentown
|
With Jaquan Northcross leading the charge, the Detroit Chargers defeated the Allentown Fleetwings, 4-2. Northcross went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Chargers. Jeff Nesbitt got credit for the save for Detroit. It was his 6th of the year. The third-place Chargers improved to 25-27.
With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Greg Brandt put Detroit in front, 2-1, with a run-scoring single. The Chargers went on to win the ballgame.
Brandt called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
