Albany pitcher Gordie Dolezal had a large part in his team subduing the Calgary Caracals, 3-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Reliever D.J. Whetstone picked up the win. His record improves to 4-4. Ricky Leyva took the loss. The current losing streak for Calgary has reached 8 games.

It could have been a different outcome for Albany, had it not been for Devin Buchanan, the 34-year old right fielder . Buchanan contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Albany up, 2-1.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Albany manager James Hoerning.
