Mainaky Helps Fleetwings Beat Chargers, 9-7
A 4-RBI performance from designated hitter Sukmo Mainaky, who finished 2nd in the SPBC in slugging percentage with .544 last year, led the Allentown Fleetwings to a win over the Detroit Chargers, 9-7. Getting the save was Ken Zimmermann, his 8th. Allentown goes to 30-21. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.

Rod Moreno delivered a big hit for Allentown. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fleetwings ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Mainaky told the Allentown Bulletin.
