The Vacaville Steelheads defeated the Detroit Chargers, 8-6. First Baseman Victor Araque deserved a large share of the credit. Araque went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Steelheads. Keith Shull claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 3-0. Chandler Storey picked up his 2nd save of the season.

Rich Daudelin, who is on pace for 54 RBI this season, chipped in a run-scoring single for Vacaville in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
