The rain came, as predicted, but the Allentown Fleetwings and Calgary Caracals were able to complete their ballgame.

Calgary wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Ray Redmond, falling to the Allentown Fleetwings, 4-3. Redmond threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. The win gives Allentown a season record of 18-16.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Wayne Stringfellow was at the plate when Allentown scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Fleetwings to go in front, 4-3.

"They were just a little bit better than us," Calgary manager Jason Benn said.
