Capitals Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Sherbrooke Canadians and Ottawa Capitals.

The Ottawa Capitals weathered an outstanding game by Sherbrooke first baseman Matt Hayes to topple the Canadians, 5-3. Hayes went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Matt Reed earned the win. Aaron Patterson took the loss for Sherbrooke. Jamie Stewart, who finished 4th in the SPBC in strikeouts with 162 in 2006, nailed down the save.

In the top of the ninth, Dave Sewall stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Canadians were trailing 5-3, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Jamie Stewart made a terrific pitch and Sewall grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Sherbrooke comeback.

Ottawa is now 13-16.
