Las Vegas second baseman Ryan Ralston had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-6, to Southern California at Empires Stadium. Ralston went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Gary Burget earned save number 5 this season. The Empires improved their record to 10-17 with the win over Las Vegas.
Larry Edelstein went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Southern California. The 30-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Steve Fisher. It was his 23rd walk of the season.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Edelstein.
