In a low-scoring contest between the Calgary Caracals and the Detroit Chargers, Ray Redmond, who is rated as the 36th best prospect by BNN, proved to be the difference. The Calgary right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Caracals win. Calgary reliever Jon Snowden picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Dave Kaminski was saddled with the loss. With the win, the Caracals hiked their record to 12-9.
Calgary used a timely hit from Jose Alferez to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Caracals ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Redmond.
