Detroit and Southern California duked it out and the Chargers came out victorious.

With Jim Soules leading the charge, the Detroit Chargers defeated the Southern California Empires, 4-2. Soules went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Chargers. Detroit bumps their record to 9-10 with the win.

Detroit used the timely hitting of Gabe Harris to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chargers on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Jim raked," said Detroit manager Mike Anderson.
