The Calgary Caracals took Ottawa pitcher Jacob Simpson's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Capitals Stadium. The final score had Calgary getting past the Capitals, 5-3. Simpson went 8 innings and allowed 5 runs, striking out 8. Fred Goheen picked up the win, lifting his record to 3-0 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 1 in 6 innings, while yielding 3 runs.
